Are you currently using an ethernet cable, or is it wireless ?
if you are already using a cable, its unlikely a new one will improve things.0 -
As above on need.
If you do buy one then any cat5e patch cable will do the job including one from a pound shop if you find one. Failing that Amazon or eBay ones will do the job and be cheap as chips.0 -
The ethernet cable should either work or not work.
If nothing has changed then the blame lies with your ISP.
They might be throttling bandwidth to that service, for example i've heard that Sky do this after 5pm.
Basically if your not using your ISPs TV service, then expect them to mess with the competition as much as they like.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Nah, they can and do kink and break causing intermittent connections.0 -

In which case it would either work or not.......
Each time there was an intermittent connection break, the device would have to renegotiate with the router and this would be quite noticeable.
Ethernet cable is not going cause slow downs or low bandwidth.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

All ethernet cables are 'generic', in that despite what it says on the packaging/shroud, the cable will be to a set specification and the ends will all be hand-fitted.Never Knowingly Understood.

First thing I would do is repower your router. This will resync it to the line and may cure your issue.0
