To appeal or not to appeal-IPC

Hi Im looking for some advise please, I received a contractual parking notice, this is because my car was apparently over the lines of the space, this was issued at about 4.30pm on new years eve, the car park was not very well lit, the signs were not very well displayed and the car park was very empty, The photographic evidence is very unclear as to whether I was over the line or not, I appealled immediately to the company explaining that the car I parked next too was also over to my side of the space and I needed to get children out of the car safely, if I was over the lines I was not effecting another space as I was the last space on the row, also I was in the shop for no more than 10 minutes as I was collecting something very quickly, the company declined this, I was then told to appeal to the IAS who have also delined it, I now do not know if I have to pay? It seems excessive for being slightly over the lines and thats only id I was?
Any advise will be greatly appreciated, Thank you0 -
They do appear to "uphold" some appeals, but they appear to be randomly selected mitigation ones with no connecting points.
I suppose they have to be able to say so many % do have appeals upheld.
Random selection appears to be chanced based.
Certainly any pointing out the law as it stands to this "legal expert" get thrown straight in the estate agents bin.
Sorry meant waste bin.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

I agree with that as Parking companies might withdraw their case when you appeal to avoid payment to IAS. I won 2 cases when appealed to IPC last May and I got 2new PCNs in the same place from the same parking company and I will refer in my appeal this 2 cases. Regards to you all0 -

What might be useful is for you to put on here your appeals to the IAS from last May, and their responses.
Then if you are feeling brave, put in your new appeals to the IAS on exactly the same grounds as those from last year (but don't tell them about the previous appeals). If they then reject them, then it will be yet more evidence that the IAS is a sham.

I received a parking ticket from pcm after breaking down at a friends and parking in her private visitors bay (max. 6 hour stay)
I had to abandon the car and the RAC came to tow it home the following day.
In this time I received the parking ticket. I appealed saying that I had broken down (and after seeing on the pcm's website that this was a valid reason for appeal)
Yet is was rejected immediately without even asking for evidence (as it suggested they might on their website)
I now have the right to appeal to IAS. Is it worth it?0
