Eon account finalised and closed?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has had a similar experiance and can shed some light.
My partner had an outstanding bill from nearly two years ago when he lived with his ex. He had an online account set up with eon to manage the repayments etc. through stress, busy etc the bill was completely forgotten about and they didnt contact him. We tried logging onto his account tonight to pay the bill however when we tried it said that the account has been finalised and closed .

So have eon wrote off the bill or is it still owed? We havent heard from them for over a year and a half.

If he hasn't stuck to the agreed repayment plan it is possible they have passed it to a DCA. Suggest he contacts them asap to resolve it before they start chasing and adding charges.

Hi Possom23 and welcome to the Forums.

Your partner can still pay the bill through our website even if unable to use their old online account. All they need is their account number, post code and email address. The link is on the first page of the website about half way down. Choose 'Not Registered Online?'

Alternatively, they can phone us and we'll be happy to take the payment this way.

If they're no longer at the property, I suspect we don't have a forwarding address and will have been sending letters to the old address.

As spiro says, if we haven't received payment after a certain time and there's no active arrangement in place, we may pass the debt to a third party to collect. We won't write it off.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction Possom23.
