Hi all,
So my self and a flat mate moved into a new flat just coming up for a year ago.
He told me yesterday that we havnt had a bill for gas/electricity the whole time we have been here. Which i had somehow managed to not realise my self.
Now when we moved in, our provider didnt get in touch to set something up, and we didnt immediately do anything about it, because well at the time we were lazy and didnt know who our provider was.
Anyway we eventually figured out who they were (scottish Power). My house mate apparently filled out the form on their site (probably about 3 months after we moved in). However he never heard anything back.
Now as i see it we have two options
1) do nothing and possibly never pay any bills for this?
2) try again to get in touch and see what happens
assuming the company will eventually figure out they are giving it to us for free. one way or another. Would we just be expected to just pay the bill for the amount of gas/electric used? or would there be additional fines in this type of circumstance?
thanks in advance

They will eventually find out - the meter gets read every 2 years. You'll have to pay for what you've used, although as you didn't provide starting readings you may end up paying some of the previous occupant's usage. No additional fines. Average consumption is about £1k a year.0 -
Trust me, if it's Scottish Power they'll never find out, they haven't a clue what's going on since their system upgrade in December 2013.0
