It's obviously intended to be a job paying minimum wage. They may have got the annual figure wrong but most would calculate annual figure as hourly rate x hours per week x 52, even though it's slightly inaccurate. Unless you are only going to be paid once a year the figure is academic as they can't pay below minimum wage.

Whether it is academic of not depends on how it is actually paid. If it is paid at 1/12 of the annual salary a month the miscalculation would affect the pay. If paid weekly or 4 weekly it would be more likely to be calculated correctly.

Is the job 52 weeks? Could it be seasonal or term time? School jobs are sometimes 38/39 week contracts.

The job isn't seasonal. It's a permanent position. It is possible to boost your salary via over-time and bonuses which are rather difficult to achieve in any meaningful way. I'm just surprised that the basic salary is so low. It's as low as they can legaly set it; well, in fact, slightly lower it appears. :-)
