PC no operating system for Linux Mint

I would like to buy a reasonable quality PC with no operating system, which I would then use with Linux Mint.
I mostly use my computer for surfing the Internet, word processing and listening to music (and therefore need a CD drive as minimum). I am not a gamer.
Several companies offer PCs with no operating system, but I believe some run better with Linux than with others. For example, many of the Novatech computers have motherboards that some Linux users don't like - apparently! I do use a Zoostorm at the moment with Suse, but wanted a slightly more modern PC and a more user friendly Linux and Mint is often recommended.
So, could anybody point me the direction of a reasonable PC?
Also, does anybody out there use Mint and, if so, how do you find it?
Many thanks for your help.

Firstly i wouldn't discount pcs that come with Windows. Windows is often bundled for next to nothing, and most budget pcs will come with it preinstalled.
Its easy enough to remove if it does come with it.
Linux in general tends to work fine with any generic hardware. Its when you use specialist or obscure hardware where you might have a problem.
For your needs, any budget pc should do the job.
The only problem i had with mint was when using nvidia optimus, but this is on a laptop and not on desktops. (but this was for gaming)0 -

Have you tried posting your questions on the Linux Mint Forum - might be the best place for an informed response on suitable new PCs....
