Renewed passport on-line on Saturday, posted off signed declaration, old passport and photos on Monday and received new passport today (Thursday). Couldn't believe speed of service.
Was prepared for a long wait as, while in photo shop having photos taken, found there were several others doing the same thing and assistant said she had been busy with passport photos since New Year.

I can also back this up!
Sent off application for my daughter which they received Tuesday morning, have the passport in hand today! (And that's without paying the premium for fast service...)0 -
Praise were praise is due, we sent off for our daughters first passport a few months ago and the speed was so much faster than I was dreading. Especially after reading so much negativity in the press.
Was about a week and a half between posting the form and the security firm turning up at my door one evening with said passport and id documents. Only took this long as they had to write to us in the meantime to say we hadn't paid enough, and me pay the outstanding. (think it was £3 odd).0 -
I'll join in on this as well if I may. Already booked a holuday for July and realised my passport will expire in June. Went to the Post Office NYE and received the new passport yesterday. Very impressed :-))Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

Adding my two pence worth. We sent my sons passport off on 20 December second class, so completely missed xmas post etc. got it back on 29th! I was amazed it was so quick over xmas.0

Goes to show there is absolutely no need to to use the PO check and send0

Another happy passport customer. Took about a week - so five working days. Excellent service and I don't consider the cost too prohibitive either.0

PO check service increases on Monday to £9.75 from £8.75Our Family Motto ~If all else fails - read the instructions...

Tip for renewal timing - try to get renewal processed a few days before the date in the month when your passport expires. Then you get free extra validity (unused months are rounded up, max 9). Obviously you need an idea how long they are taking to process - threads like this help!0

Not much, but in true money saving spirit, every bit helps.
My old passport expires on 9 February; new one issued on 7 January and will expire on 7 March 2025, so nearly a month free.0
