Highview parking

Hi just looking for a bit of advise , have read some of the other forums here but not sure if my situation is the same . I started a new job in a new area which has no parking , i parked in a tesco carpark even though i knew there was 3 hour limit and that i would be parking for over 7 hours but just took the risk that they wouldnt be enforcing it . 2 weeks later i have been sent a fine in the post along with pictures of my car and a letter from tesco customer service director . If i pay within 14 days the fine will come down from 70 to £40 , im just wondering whether i should pay it off and just learn an expensive lesson as i dont think i have many excuses as it wasnt just a slight overstay , and im wondering if any appeals would be rejected on those grounds . Thanks Sarah

1. It's not a fine.
2. Read the Newbies thread and learn how to easily appeal it and win (regardless of the circumstances)
3. A letter from Tesco? Now that we would love to see! Please scan or photograph it, redact personal details, put it on some image sharing site like tinypic, and post a link here (as a Newbie MSE will not let you post links so just change the "http" on the front to "hxxp" and one of us will fix it).
4. Don't park there again, unless shopping in Tesco. None of us here approves of abusing landowner's rights, apart from anything else it gives the parking company scum an excuse for what they do.
P.S. it's only feeble old Highview, they are absolutely nothing to worry about. Google "prankster radioactive" for a good laugh.Je suis Charlie.0 -
1 - your situation is dealt with in Post 1 of the Newbies Sticky.
2 - This is not a fine.
Now go back and read the sticky carefully, then post back here for more help when you have the bones of something practical together.

So what did you learn and have you now appealed and are you on the way to beating it? If you paid them (EEEK!!) then please don't bother to come back but otherwise let us know how the appeal goes in the end when you win. Easy peasy, read the NEWBIES thread, 2 clicks away.sarahjane1989 wrote: »Hi just looking for a bit of advise , have read some of the other forums here but not sure if my situation is the same .
