If it's company insurance then the first port of call will be the Claims Management department to report the incident. They would then deal with the insurance aspect, and arrange any recovery if necessary.

    (That's how mine works anyway).
;67409616]Since no-one was injured, they don't have to give insurance details. Just reg. no. and names & addresses of driver and owner.
Insurance details aren't the point.

The driver would not give the required details.

Hence the op started this thread hoping for help.
  • Thanks for the replies. Car is insured. It is how logged as a crime.
I rang back the insurance company and was told they can do it with just number plate and whoever we spoke to previously was incorrect.
I just hope the driver doesn't deny the claim and tries to say we hit him! OH took photos of both cars so hopefully enough proof that other car is to blame along with the crime ref number!

I say this not because elderly drivers like smashing into cars in car parks, but because only an elderly driver could easily get out of giving their details without a fight, probably by acting all dithery and going for the sympathy vote.

    Not necessarily, I wouldn't fancy a fight with a 20 year old, 6ft, 25 stone bloke either.
