Maybe just me, but I can't see the point in replacing a perfectly legal part worn tyre with another part worn tyre.

Tracking and suspension wear check, then run it until it's due a replacement.

The MOT definition of tread pattern is:

A tread pattern is the combination of plain surfaces and grooves extending across the breadth of the tread and round the entire circumference. This inspection only applies to the primary grooves. Primary grooves are those which contain the tread wear indicators (TWI) or are cut as deep as those containing the TWI when new. Other grooves or sipes that are not cut as deep as the primary grooves are not part of this inspection.

Another thing to bear in mind, looking at the wear on that, is that it could simply be a case of the "normal" wear pattern for that tyre (for the reasons of tread depth mentioned above) - the shoulder tread will naturally disappear first if it's shallower to start with.

It's hard to tell from a photo, but there doesn't appear to be any feathering of the tread, which you'd expect with a tracking issue, and both shoulders appear to have worn about the same, which you wouldn't expect with a camber issue.
  • I'll leave the tyre on until the MOT in March seeing as it's still legal.

    Best way.

Have you measured the depth yet?

No not yet, but as it's above the wear indicators then I assume it is above 1.6mm.

Not easy from a photo but I'd guess at 3mm easy, maybe more & perfectly legal.
