It's the Tory rebels that are Cameron's problem.
Ahhh but remembering that Tories and Labour are voting against it doesn't fit in with the SNP bad rhetoric ... do keep up Shakey0 -

clearly it is an english only matter
and clearly the unprincipled SNP MPs voted to cause maximum harm
but no surprise there but a further confirmation that any old faux excuse can and will be used to cause mischief
I assume you approve of the SNP tactics?0 -
Have to admit I do also love the irony of today's vote ... the Tories are frothing at the mouth at the SNP for voting today ... but no acceptence that they voted down 99% of the Scotland Bill0

I follow this thread out of some perverse need to always remind myself how stupid some people are.
Its not worth commenting specifcally or debating. Eletan has proved herself to be genuinely thick. Shakey surprises me as appears intelligent but to counter that telegraph article with 'yeah but if Scotland was independent' ...... The only possible answer is independent Scotland = massive taxes and low spending. There is no alternative. To claim otherwise is stupidityLeft is never right but I always am.0 -

Yes.Even if the party had previously told the government they would keep out of it, it’s their job to represent their Scottish constituents. Yes, the proposed changes will only directly affect England and Wales, but the knock-on consequences may be significant: if the laws are liberalised south of the border, the SNP argue, the premium wages that Scottish workers can attract on a Sunday will be jeopardised...
..But in the end, who can argue with the idea that significant changes in England and Wales are bound to affect life across the UK, and that an MP’s job is to represent their constituents’ interests in such matters, come what may?
Cameron fought for three years with every fibre of his being to keep Scottish MP's at Westminster. So here we all are. If it had been Scottish Labour MP's still around, there would've been no question of them voting with the Tories on this. I fail to see the difference because they happen to be SNP MP's.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

You must know lots of folk who voted no.
I hope you buy them a drink when you see them.If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

I think you have to be clearer when you're quoting articles. There is no possible way that any Scottish Govt can 'run up a deficit' at the present time. You accuse others of being thick. Perhaps you should look again at this headline. Scotland is currently part of the UK so isn't running up anything but a fixed block grant. You'd have to be massively thick to see otherwise.Scotland runs up £15bn deficit twice size of UK's
We've been over it a million times on threads like these. Every year. To put it perfectly frankly it all boils down to whether you think GERS proves that Scotland dodged a bullet voting No. Or if you think that voting No keeps Scotland in an eternally crap economic position with no levers to correct within the Union, and that is actually what GERS is proving.
And never the twain shall meet.It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?0 -

Thank you for proving my point wonderfully there. It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
