and that tells us so much

Yes, it's not really news - just another stage in the progress of the bill. Anyone interested can read every single word here..

Of course, Twitter might be better for the serious stuff about which MP looked at another in a marked manner.

No mention of yesterday's Scottish bill on uk breakfast telly nor in english newspapers. So thankfully spared the SNP whingeacoaster - until I came on here. ;)

Why come on a thread about the SNP then lol. ;)

And they did make the news. But it was for Sunday Trading. Cameron's done a u-turn as it happens. Scared of his own rebels. However, will be blamed on the SNP. Who will take the credit if they're going to be blamed for it anyway.

'Whinge and grievance' buzzwords. How novel. Never heard that about the SNP before.
It all seems so stupid it makes me want to give up.
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid ?

No pleasing some people. The SNP argued a U-turn was in order, such a U-turn happened (?) and the SNP can claim victory.

It's almost as if you wanted the SNP to lose so they can claim they don't have a voice in parliament.

It doesn't look good now apparently, as part of the Union. And we're paying the debt too. What's the difference ?

No-one is paying the debt off at present, we have to wait until the Government budget is in surplus.

I was comparing costs with the White Paper forecast which lacked that necessary charge on Scotland's finances. The debt will be sterling of course.

It was a deflection from the Scotland Bill. Sunday Trading and the SNP made the news, the Scotland Bill didn't. Not even much in Scotland.

It's almost as if.... they don't want it highlighted. I assume Labour certainly won't. They're still all over the place demanding the SNP top up tax credits, in the most expensive complicated and risky way possible for the Scottish Govt... newspapers etc strangely silent that they voted to keep tax credits in Westminster hands last night.

Par for the course. But the SNP being in the news for Sunday Trading was a classic 'hey look over here/how bad are these whingers' type thing. Quickly followed by an 'oh never mind, we'll do this later'. ;)

Alas, since Scotland won't be keeping the pound if she leaves the union. That makes matters a little more complicated in terms of paying of any debts and deficits.

But you're getting a little ahead of yourself. Either that or stuck in 2014.

So am I wrong about the Scotland Act? Is it there to bring in the Smith reforms or not?

    Thanks for that. :)

Not the best read though. But I see that maybe I should start spelling "whinging" as "whingeing", so not a total loss.

There's an account of the "debate", if it qualifies for that with or without the "e" here:

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-34760508

There are interesting figures in that giving the estimated tax revenues as £19.3 bn.! Plus extra taxes of course applied by the SNP.

    What can wrong.

Its seems that the SNP did not vote against the bill.

So now would be a good time to explain what they will use it for (apart from a Neverendum war chest of course).
