Windows scan problem

I am trying to scan images for download onto Ebay via Auctiva. Once I have scanned something, part of the image appears as a huge image covering most of my screen, but there is no way of closing it down other than Ctrl Alt & Delete to stop the Windows program.

I am having problems loading my images onto Auctiva as they keep failing and I wonder whether the problem is with my pc ? I have opened a support case with Auctiva, but they can't find the problem at their end.

Any help would be really appreciated, thanks.

What file format is the scanned image? It sounds as if the file size is too huge to upload. If you right-click on it what is its size. It's not a big problem to reduce it to a more manageable size.
