Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy January 2016
Hi all,
I'm currently on the Scottish Power Online Fixed Price Energy March 2015 and am looking around for better deals before this expires.
Comparing via the Cheap Energy Club it looks like I could switch to the above tariff without incurring the £50 cancellation charge (as I will be staying with Scottish Power)
Also, the Jan 16 tariff does not include and cancelled fees so I could then switch off a better deal comes along.
My questions are...
1) Is it worth switching or just wait til my current tariff expires
2) Can I still switch through the Cheap Energy Club & get the £30 to switch tariffs? (even though I would be remaining with the same provider)
All other suggestions welcome too...
Thanks in advance 😊

For me, the SP tariffs have been coming in cheaper over the last few months and I've been jumping from their Nov, Dec and Jan tariff.
If the Jan tariff works out cheaper for you, then there isn't any reason for you not to switch straight away but I wouldn't imagine you'd qualify for the cash back.0 -
It is worth switching as it's no bother to do so (although SP will probably mess it up) and then you have a free escape route should you wish to change to another supplier subsequently.Je suis sabot...0

I too switched from march 15 to jan 16 as the standing charge was cheaper, the elec unit was slightly more and gas the same as other unit. But i can control my consumption. The saving on my SC and no exit fees, swayed me to change and as i had just put in my monthly readings, all was well with my bill. I have checked last years bills and for the same units used, my price is the same. I will still keep an eye on their tarriffs.0
