Hanging kitchen cabinet - brackets?

In our kitchen there was 1 kitchen cabinet in a section that was set back. We removed this with the intention of not putting it back after the walls were skimmed.

Then once we start filling the cupboards we think perhaps it's a better idea to put it back as you can never have too much storage :rotfl:

Can't quite remember how it was hanging on the wall though.

I got a couple of strips of 2"x2" timber ... until my mother burnt them.

But it made me think, would 2"x2" be ok or should 3"x2" be used? Reasoning being - a piece the same dimension all around could be rotated, where if you put say a 3x2 on where one side is longer than the other (with the 3" to the wall) then this can't be pushed over or whatever, it wont rotate.

And to drill or use something like no nails glue instead of/as well as?

This is the base of the cabinet. Bottom is 260mm in length.

As i think i'd prefer not to have...

But if they're the best thing for it then it'll have to be.
