Final Notice & Threat of County Court Proceedings from SIP for PCN

Hi Everyone

I have read the "newbie" sticky threads on the whole PCN subject and they are very useful.

However, there are a couple of things that I could do with knowing now I've received this SIP "final notice" letter for overstaying for 15 minutes at a car park off Great Ancoats Street in Manchester in September.

1. Are SIP a mickey mouse outfit and are their threats of "legal action", issuing "County Court Proceedings" etc a bluff or have they had history of doing this. They say they will refer to Morgan Knightley & Co (but reading online looks like SIP & MK & Co are one and the same?!?!)

2. Should I, at this stage just appeal to POPLA

£100 is complete highway robbery for a 15 minute overstay !!!!

Thanks for any advice

you cannot appeal to popla as SIP will not have provided a popla code

in fact, SIP joined the IPC in may 2014 so there would never have been a popla code generated in this instance
  • Thanks Red X - could you point me in the right direction of what to do next please ?

nothing you can do apart from asking the landowner to cancel the charge

its an LBC or MCOL you should take notice of, if they ever arrive

other than that its pay up, or ignore (for 6 years) - there are no other options
  • Thanks RedX - Ill look on the Newbie Sticky to see if there are any template letters that I can write to the landowner

    thanks

I think you will find that we expect people to be able to write their own letters, tailored to the events of their own situation - there is far too much reliance on template letters which detract from the personal plea aspects when you write one of your own

in other words, I doubt you will find any

but you will find a thread about successful landowner complaints
