I think it will be an option.As the OP said they want the £100 leaving bonus from First Direct, i don't think that will be an option !
OP is 6 months in with First Direct, so has another 6 months in which to jump ship (and close all other accounts held there, which is where I think you're coming from?).
The 2nd FD account will be switched away long before the time limit expires, possibly as early as the week after next, or the beginning of the week after.0
