for a firm supposedly based in UK, whats with the data transfer thing..?Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
They adhere to the data protection act. Transfer of data out of EEA is referring to rather industry standard use of services for fraud & security provision. I note that the version of the statement you use is an edited version against the full privacy statement I source below. Services such as these are often in the USA and increasingly Ireland. It is not some kind of freaky new behaviour. This company are adhering to the data protection act requirements and clearly informing you. THAT is what is unusual. Disclosure. Very very few have done that by comparison.
The Data Protection Act clearly exempts (especially section 29) use of data in this way that Sprinkle full disclose. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1998/29/part/IV
I personally think you could be overthinking what I see as highly transparent terms for a respectable business. I have been using this company for months and have not once received email that could have came from such a source. I used to use myoffers too and their volume were clear.
FYI the full statement of transferring data outside the EEA readsTransfer of Your Personal Data outside of the EEA

Such companies may be located outside of the EEA and You consent to the transfer of Your Personal Data to such companies for the purposes set out here in accordance with this Statement and as permitted by the Data Protection Legislation from time to time.

Who are the respectable business? A self promoter who had their competitions deleted and asked "winners" to post on the forum.0 -
Most respectable businesses self promote through basic marketing and PR activity. Rules of this forum may restrict this activity but I most certainly do NOT see them an less of a respectable business.“We are not interested in the fact that the brain has the consistency of cold porridge.” - Alan Turing (1912-1954)0

Most respectable businesses do not break the forum rules.
Respectable -Sprinkle Members who share Sprinkle Shared Links are under a duty at all times when recommending Products & Services to provide clear and accurate descriptions of the Prize. Sprinkle does not guarantee the accuracy of any information on the Site relating to the Prize which is the sole responsibility of the relevant Sprinkle Member participating in THE Sprinkle Program and entering a Prize Draw
So share a promotion where they have the information wrong and any comeback is on the member.Sprinkle has no responsibility whatsoever for the supply and quality of the Prize
They are a data harvester as per Myoffers etc with the addition of promotion through social media.
Rather than another pointless bump to answer the post #14monsieur_epargnant wrote: »Please consider identifying from where any stated T&Cs are sourced to help assist clarity to other MSE members. I can not find the quoted text referring to 'duty at all times' of members sharing links, nor reference to 'quality of the prize' in either the full T&Cs or the full Privacy Policy. The info provided seems outdated?
In the current T&Cs (section 10) there is a variant to what was posted but in essence just confirms that Sprinkle can not be held liable to the way their links are referred to away from their own site.. nor the content of those prize partner sites. E.g Sprinkle are not liable for content on the Amazon site.

if you're worried don't sign up
leaves more chance for those that don't over complicate things and know how to press the delete button when they get an email they don't recognise.0
