4 years complete of DRO on credit file.

Hi February will be four years completed since taking out a DRO. and recently applied for a mid value mobile phone contract with a provider that I already have a low value contract with and was declined due to credit score.


I was wondering will I only be accepted for things again once the full years are completed and there fore the DRO is not on the credit file?


Also, is there anything I can do now to start improving my score (or will I just be declined over and over)?

Have you checked your credit report to see if the default's have changed to partly satisfied etc? Unfortunately the DRO stays on your record for 6 years meaning obtaining credit is difficult. I have managed to get a new phone contract but I do not know why in comparison to you.

Yes I was able to get a new contract phone. My old contract expired and I changed to another network who was offering the same deal cheaper (I got accepted even though I had only just finished my momentum period), I do not know how I got accepted as I was expecting not to.

To OP maybe you could get a sim only deal and after 12 months they may allow you to get one with a phone as they can see a payment history?

I have a phone contract and a current account. Does the DRO fall off 6 yrs from the start date or the completion date?
