HELP! Private Car Park fine - appealed threatening debt recovery
Joni_B
I apppealed against a parking fine that was issued in a private carpark using the advice on the website,
My first initial reason for not paying was lack of signage, which failed as the photo showed my car below a sign which was roughly 10ft up in the air.
Second was that the amount charged was of no realistic amount. 100.00!!!
i asked them to provide me with a breakdown of costs and loss and how they calculated this amount but have had nothing,
the last repsonse I had off them which was this:
We suggest you take legal advice from a solicitor and present him with the facts as your claims are either incorrect or not applicable.
We have given you our decision and will continue to enforce the debt.
I have since received a letter saying if the debt is not paid in full within 21 days they will pass it on to a debt collector.
I still stand by my argument that the amount in question the 100.00 is a complete made up amount and refuse to pay it.
Can anyone help me???????
company in question is 'LINKPARKING LTD'
Many thanks.
Jon

Link are IPC members. They should have provided an IAS code ("Independent" Appeals Service) in their rejection letter.
You could try an appeal to IAS, but they're just a kangaroo court and probably not worth wasting your time. So just ignore everything you get in future except court papers or an LBCCC. (Acronyms in the NEWBIES thread).
Note: between 01/10/2012 and 31/03/2014 LINK PARKING raised precisely ZERO claims in the small claims court.0 -
so they pass it to a debt collector who hounds you for 6 years, who cares ? they cannot do anything at all (read the NEWBIES sticky thread about debt collectors)
its only an LBC or MCOL you need to worry about0 -
