Paris by train for £34.50

So I saw this on my Facebook yesterday. Paris by train from London for £34.50.

    if thats a one-way price on eurostar, thats the normal base price (ie £69 return). The sooner you book the fares, the better chance you have of getting the base price (fares are released 6 months in advance, sometimes earlier).

    They actually start at £29.50 (especially handy as you can use a credit card for free on any purchases under £30).

    If this is the Eurostar deal, it was in the MSE weekly email last Friday. I expect all the weekend seats may have gone by now.

    There are still lots of £29.50 weekend fares, but the early and late trains have been booked up so I don't think you'll find any suitable for a weekend day trip. Most of them won't get you there until 2/3pm or so - but that could still work out for a long-weekend if you come back on the Monday.
  • Well hotels are generally cheaper on Sundays, so going late on Saturday and coming back on Monday will work out nicely.
    Will have a look.
