Cooperative membership points gripe

I am curious as to why when making a transaction at our coop store that sometimes we are unable to put our transaction points online because the receipt has failed to register the transaction.
If your receipt says to become a new member then I'm sorry your receipt has not been validated and the points will not be applied.
All the details are on the receipt of the transaction so it's their error not mine. I thought the idea of shopping at the coop was to be rewarded for your spending , not when their machine chooses which transactions will and will not be validated.
We are still waiting for a new card replacement which after ordering in good time has still not arrived.

You seem to be seriously unlucky with supermarkets etc. Don't you normally shop in Waitrose?0
-
At least Waitrose stuff is expensive for a reason, it's generally decent quality. Co-Op don't have that excuse, they just sell carp for stupid amounts of money!0
-
Carp ? I usually see salmon. They don't sell all crap, some of their food is quality.0

Ah. Assumed crap wouldn't get past the swear filters
We'll have to agree to disagree though about Co-Op.0 -
With some shops (like Boots) you have to tell the cashier you've not got your card and ask them to validate the receipt so you can add the points later. Maybe Co-op is the same.0

Yes you can input the details on the Co-Op membership website and claim the points.0 -

Why do I feel a "I got banned from the Coop for picking up receipts in the car park" thread coming along? The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

I have no idea why? Do you do that?
I only input my receipt details when I have on the odd occasion forgotten to take my card with me.
Waitrose have a similar scheme and with Asda you have to input receipt details to claim back (if applicable) the 10% saving on your shop
Don't tar everyone the same brush.0 -
