EA, Fifa 15 and a ban

I don't understand why people buy packs for FUT. Essentially, your paying to buy players that already exist within the game.
Not quite. You're paying for a chance to have access to players in the game, within the confines of FUT.
You can get the packs without paying, but then EA wouldn't make as much money.0 -

While that is true that you're paying to access players within the confines of FUT, those players already exist in the game already, so EA is milking their customers by selling all those packs.0 -

You can access all those players if you want, just not in FUT.
You'll get no argument from me that EA milks it, but its a successful model and I can appreciate the appeal of it.
It wouldn't be quite so annoying if EA used the extra money to develop Fifa, instead of releasing more or less the same game every year.0 -
Duggan, don't think that you can argue they release the same game every year (more or less). What they do is take out or make worse the bits of the game that many players like, don't bother fixing the problems that nobody likes, and develop the bits that they like e.g. FUT gets ever bigger which makes them money; Pro clubs has gone from Fifa 15 on ps3 so can only be played on PS4, career mode reduced to being a player or manager rather than being able to do both, and that's before I even get onto the dire programming itself. Personally, I liken EA's Fifa franchise to politicians - you can never find one you like, so you have to chose the one you dislike the least.0

On that note however you have to accept that the PS3 version is going to be limited in some way, if they include all the 'improvements' from the newer version.
We all know what EA are like, but the point about buying points/cards etc is that you don't have to do it. It is possible to play FUT, win cards etc and trade your way to a good team. I know because I've done it without spending a penny.
The option is there to potentially speed that process up by spending real money, but as far as 'pay to win' goes it isn't the worst example by a long shot.
On a wider note, the way people pay for gaming is changing. Expect many more console (PC already has it to an extent) games to come 'free' or cut price and to make up the shortfall in these micro-transactions. It has been proven very lucrative and is simply an indication of how people spend their entertainment budget these days.0 -
Still waiting for the account to be unbanned.0

Took their time but about 2 months ago they finally reinstated that banned account.
EA are useless.0 -
Good to know this was resolved, but the timescales are shocking. The FUT season is only really worth playing on any given version for 12 months - to unfairly deny an enthusiast/fan the chance to play it for months on end is appalling.0
