No recent experience but when I did go their prices were fixed, no haggling, and subject to a £71 fee. Of course this may have changed and if there is a car that has been hanging around a while, they may play ball but wouldn't count on it. If you are trading in anything, they will give you a price, not too generous a price, and that price is also fixed no matter which car you choose, unlike some of the garages I have visited that offer say, £500 against one car but £1,000 against another.

Make sure you check milages as I have always found their cars generally have high:eek: mileages...

It's a cheap place to buy a car for a reason..........

............. and that's because the cars tend to be hire cars or returned motability cars. I highlighted 8 cars as possible purchases and drove up there. Of the 8 cars, 6 had notices on them saying "This car is a Managers markdown because of bodywork damage" or something similar. The 7th car had obviously been smoked in because of the smell which made me retch. I realise that some people smoke in their cars, but with the window open a little. This car owner had smoked with the windows shut! Then the 8th car had bad kickplate and damage on the sills from a wheelchair. There are some good cars there but it is a needle in haystack affair. Some Mercs and BMWs were very well kept but you generally won't find a pristine car there.

I asked about haggling and prices were fixed. Quite bad when you consider that some stock sits there for months and months.

I and a neighbour bought a car from them, both our experience was that they do not haggle. I was given £500 part-ex for an old Corsa with a dent in, which would have been difficult to sell privately, so I was happy with that. A lot of their cars are fleet cars so high mileage - but this means it'll mostly be long-distance motorway miles and they should have been serviced on time. My Alfa was fairly high mileage and a bit tatty around the edges, but a quick check of Parker's showed it was fair price, especially when the part-ex was taken into account. They did give me some money off for the cost of a missing radio facia, I think this is something you need to look out for. They didn't try the hard sell on a warranty or finance, or breakdown cover, and charged the low end of usual dealer prices - so I was happy in the end. They have lots of cars, so it's fairly easy to get the spec you want.

In your experience maybe, but not mine.

CarGiant is a car supermarket. If a car has a scratch or a dent then it is sold like that, whereas a main dealer will repair it but charge you more.

Also if the car needs a service it's down to you. You should check the service history... no service history = no manufacturers warrenty.

I bought there last year... yes the car I bought was missing a key (£100), needed a service (£150) and had two small scratches on the front bumper (all of which I knew about), but I did get it from £2,500 less than a main dealer wanted.
