chrome cast and amazon prime

I know I am about to make myself look very stupid but its a risk I have to take.
I have taken the 30 day trial on amazon prime, I don't have much longer left as it has taken me this long to try and figure out the terminology and I cant. I was hoping to download things on both my kindle fire and my tv but there are no alba tvs listed as the ones listed on their pages, so maybe I cant do it. so will just do it on kindle if is all I can do but I cant figure out how to get any of it downloaded from one thing to the other, its not like when you just copy an app from amazon to kindle. info all on page and all you do is click on download button. it also brags new movies etc all I can find is ones I have never heard of.
what and how do I do it?
as for chrome where do I begin?
can anyone help or point me in right direction please was hoping when I bought them my ds1would sort but he is not around and I am useless with these things

You're trying to use Amazon Prime on a Chromecast, via your Kindle? Amazon Prime doesn't have a proper app for Chromecsat (Netflix does) so you're left with casting a webpage. From the Chrome browser. Which AFAIK you can't install on Kindles. If you have a desktop or laptop with Chrome installed, goto Extensions, and download the Chromecast extension. Goto the Amazon Prime site, login, the cast the web briwser window (little icon, top right, looks like a screen with a WiFi signal coming out of it).

You can install chrome on Kindle fires, they are basically just android tablets.

You have to do it manually thou, as amazon doesn't have it on their app store.

you do this by downloading and installing the google chrome apk file via a file manager (which you have to install separately)

sorry, wasnt making myself very clear. they had intended on being seperate questions. one being that i had got amazon prime time tryout for 30days which are almost up and havent got a clue how to get the best out of it, was hoping i could download progs and films on to either my kindle fire or my lap top to watch when I go into hospital soon and will have no access to wifi?
then question 2 when I found out I hadn't a clue to download anything I went and bought a chrome thing but don't know how to use that either?
I wont even go in to a tv internet plug in thing that allows you to watch tv from all over the world

The movies on Amazon prime are streamed, so you can only watch them while you have an account, you cant download and save them for later

And the second question - Chromecast is an HDMI dongle - it plugs into your TV's HDMI port. You then power it from either a nearby USB port (your TV may have one, or with the supplied mains adaptor.
It's basic function is to put stuff from small screens (phone, tablet, computer) onto the big screen (TV). Plug in, switch on, get the app on your phone/tablet, or extension for Chrome on your computer, set it up, and then look for the logo!

thanks that has been really helpful. have just read it out to ds1 and he now thinks he knows what to do. problem is still how to get best out of amazon prime, had just decided to treat it as a never mind thing. until Friday when I noticed £79 taken from account so obviously my free 30 days are up and hope i am not being too cheeky by asking if you know how i get the best from it. thanks again

I have netflix on my tablet. (Tablet has Chrome installed.) My tv does not have an option for plugging in an android tablet shown in its menu options (only lapttop or notebook pcs). Can I connect the tablet to the tv with a micro-HDMI-HDMI cable and have it work? Would I be better off with a Chrome cast device.

Cheeky? Not at all. I don't have Amazon Prime, but I do have Netflix. How to get the most out of either, would be watch as much as possible, especially of their exclusive content, as possible, in a short space of time. Then cancel.
To do this, you want to be able to use it on as many devices as possible, so you can use it as many places as possible. PS3 is great, Wii can manage it, and there are other devices that can do it, depending on what you have.
littlerock - if your TV has a spare HDMI slot, it'll take any HDMI device, including your tablet. And yes, a Chromecast would free your from the wires!

Netflix works perfectly well with a Chromecast.
