Asda non-delivery!!

Options
Placed my second order with Asda for delivery today between 2-4pm. By 4.30pm it had not arrived. I called customer service as I had not been informed of a problem and was told they would get back to me. I checked on line an hour later as I was still waiting only to find that my order was rejected!!!! Bad service or what from Asda?

That was exactly my experience of Asda- I lost count of the times they were either ridiculously late - or on two occasions just did not turn up. It also became the norm for between 25-30% of my shopping to be unavailable. The final straw was after complaining and being sent a £10 voucher and give us another chance email - I did so and out of a £50 shop £30 of it did not turn up.
I changed to Tescos and I have had no issues whatsoever in over 2 years.
  • We used to use Asda but no shows were very common. This became an issue when our little one arrived as a missed delivery could mean a panic trip to the local shop to buy baby supplies. As a result we stopped using Asda and haven't looked back.

I know Asda have a strange way of taking payment for home deliveries in that if your order comes to £50 then you need £100 in your bank

yes it seems they place a payment request which is then taken from your bank account and placed in holding until the payment is claimed, but then rather than claim that they take another payment which they do claim, so if you dont have enough to cover both payments then it will fail and be rejected.
  • My first order, Christmas week, was for a turkey crown along with other items of food for Christmas lunch, only to find that the turkey had been deleted from my order as no longer available. Fortunately someone went into an Asda to pick one up for me and they had plenty to choose from in store.
