Credit expert queries

I am hoping someone can answer a couple of queries please.
I have just dared to log on and look at my experian report. I have defaulted on a loan back in 2012 and am now paying it back. I do not question the default, but it is showing up twice and under 2 different dates. 2012 with the original loan company and now in 2014 with Lowell portfolio. Is this correct.
Also I seem to have acquired a dinancial conection with my son. How has this happened. He has been applying for and taken out PDL's. Has he given my name or is it through address only?
thank in advance

On the original entry from the loan company - does it show anywhere a field that shows this debt has been assigned to a CAIS member? if so then it is acceptable for both to show but the debt collector must use the same default date.
If it doesn't show the debt assigned to CAIS member flag then they should not both reporting the debt.
You son is showing as a financial associate on your file? not as an alias? Have you ever had any joint financial product with son? a bank account or loan? have you ever been guarantor on a loan for him?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Lowell can add their own entry as long as the original one is marked as "debt assigned" to show that it's the earlier data from the new entry.
The new entry must have the same "default date" as the original one though.
That is the "default date" on the main part of the entry. Not the updated to date, or subsequent D/8 status history markers which are not new defaults, which sometimes get confused for a new default date.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks for this- It is showing as a financial assosciate search, what can this mean?
Also the default date with the loan is 31/12/12 and with Lowell is 12/1/13. But it does not say anywhere that it is a debt assigned. No where on the lowell entry does it state about who the original lender is, so looks like 2 seperate defaults.0
