Hi
Can anyone help me PLEASE! I am trying to install windows 8.1 disc to a new pc with no operating system. I have tried all the usual unplug and wait solutions. I can only get as far as PERSONILISE - I add my Microsoft information then the screen goes to "finalising your settings" then no further. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have been trying for over 24 hours.
Thanks

Have you tried starting the process over again? This kind of issue is usually down to a bad hard drive or bad install media.0

If, as suggested, it is bad install media, then you could try downloading new media using this route:

I would also try:- Sign in with a local account rather than a Microsoft Account, to eliminate login issues as a possible problem. (Easiest way to do this is to unplug the ethernet wire or switch off your WiFi for a few minutes so it doesn't even give you that option, or select the option to Create a New Account and then create a local account from there.)
- During the installation process, switch off the option to install driver updates automatically, and also switch off Windows Update
- Consider switching off hardware features like Bluetooth in the BIOS (if such options exist) to minimise the number of drivers it's trying to install automatically.
