As your insurer has agreed to do the donkey work and get you reimbursed 50% of your excess, then be patient and let them get on with it (giving them regular prompts as each deadline is reached)


(Normally you have to do it yourself, and this looks to be an instance where court action will need to be threatened and if necessary will take months till completed, so you will be saved all the hassle)
