Child's Bank Account Overdrawn

Debts incurred by anyone aged over 16 years in the U.K. can be enforced and it's debatable whether a debt incurred at an earlier age can be enforced. In any event the parents are likely to be liable.0

In any event the parents are likely to be liable.
Why?
Banks historically used to ask parents to pay, just as they used to ask widows if they can repay their deceased partners debts, but there is no legal ground to do so unless the parents signed the contract too agreeing to guarantee the account its a rare scenario that the parent can be held liable for their childs action0 -
True, but that's the answer to a different question ("HOW MUCH?" not "HOW?")!Mr_Goodkat wrote: »

Yes but I meant if it was the bank's fault they should write it off - if the transactions were made by the customer - the customer is at fault and should repay.
The amount is not important.0
