Cheap PSP for real?...opinions please

Options
I found this on ebay appears to good to be true.
Normally if sounds too good to be true it is but this seller has a good rating.
What do you think?
Item number 8190443483

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8190443483

Any thoughts appreciated.

there are a few small but maybe significant inconsistencies in the auction - firstly it states the p&p (in the ebay pre-filled field) as £33.00 and then at the bottom (as part of the listing) it says:
Buyer Agrees to Pay P&P stated in this auction.
    (P&P: £ 28.00)

    It also says:
'item location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong'

and then in the listing says:
//Remarks: Some buyers are worry about the Import Tax, I want to say my ITEM ARE 100% no IMPORT TAX!, SHIP FROM UK!!!!!!!!!//

We have set up an Office in UK, so item will be sent from UK to you. cheeers

    so why does it say:
"The item will be shipped clearing of
We will use EMS (EXPRESS MAILING SERVICE) - 3 business working days to UK"
(I thought it wasn't being sent from HK?? EMS is a japanese postal service, and hang on, isn't Hong Kong part of China not Japan??)

Thirdly, it says at the top bit of the listing:
"can choose 1 game from below:"

then at the bottom it says:
You can choose 18 games, please send request to moleunghomoyee@yahoo.com.hk. If no instuction, I will send a Rodge Racer.

To be honest I think they have the product but will ship it from Hong Kong or Japan or wherever they are! lol! I also think if you look back at their feedback that they will produce the item but dunno if you'll get it for 99p, its only been listed 2 hours and looks like they go for a lot more than that....

    check this out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=75556&item=8186650826

Its worth a go at 99p plus £33 postage - just gotta hope no-one else spots the auction but listing it on here and the fact its on ebay at all i dont think you got much hope of that :D

    hope this helps x

Lots of things spring to mind here. Firstly, 98.3 % feedback is not brilliant, I would seriously think twice about buying high price goods from someone with that rating. Secondly the seller is in Hong Kong but claims to ship from the UK, so why the £33 shipping charge? ACtually it says £33 in two places and £28 in another and don't forget you must add the £3.50 insurance charge, it is not optional. This definitely looks like a seller using drop shipping which means you run the risk of the shippers not having stock items.

Lastly, keep an eye on the costs if you decide to bid and remember to factor in the £36.50 shipping and insurance when deciding your maximim bid. The last few of these he has sold went for over £165 but I don't know if that is a good price or not? The next one he has finishing is already at £160 (see item 8190226996 )

ALso pay by paypal if you decide to go ahead.

Lastly, the seller is operating outside ebay terms and conditions by offering choice auctions (he is selling PSP games and says you have the choice which to buy) there is a chance therefore that ebay could NARU him, so just keep an eye on things if you go ahead.

I think its probably genuine although i suspect his first language isnt english, i also suspect he's just relisting the same auction over and over again so he's probably missed out on those details.

Ultimately expect it to ship from HK and also expect to pay the higher shipping cost. And if your still not 100% just leave it and wait until another appears.
    ummm...

Anyone looked at what the first bidder ashascash is bidding on in their history? Since joining on 1st May they have bid on around 40 auctions by webstorez? In fairness they have been bidding on other stuff too but seems a bit odd?

It will be interesting to see some feedback left by ppl who have bought one of these recently from webstorez. With the UK PSP delayed until september one would be worth a look....

I am not really up to date on these game consoles but if they aren't out until September the positive feedback received on 8188362906 is a bit of a mystery if its genuine.

However, my son, who is young enough to know about these things, says there are some around and a local shop is selling imports already.

  • I am just about to place an order (bid) with webstorez.

My take on this is that they must ship each order over from Japan (Hong Kong?) to their UK office (hence the high shipping cost) and then on from there to the customer (hence no Import duty).

I am currently trying to get them to reduce the postage cost as I am needing two PSPs.
