Posh-luxury hotel Sheffield?

Hi
Im planning a special getaway for my husbands 32nd birthday in April and have something special planned in Sheffield.
Can anyone suggest a nice hotel, within walking distance of centre that we can stay in?
His birthday is on a Friday which makes it more expensive but to make budget go further im planning on staying on the Thursday night then waking up on his birthday there.
Any suggestions would be great.
Oh...one other thing...we are from the south so would be driving so need car parking aswell

I wouldnt have said there are any really posh or luxury hotels, or at least none that I've discovered. Most are much more business chain hotels like Hilton, Double Tree, Novotel or Mercure

TripAdvisor does come up with two independents that I dont know of in the top few ranks but they arent city centre.

There is limited parking in Sheffield city centre, there are a couple of multi storeys and some flat car parks, but none of the flat ones are near where the hotels are, and the multi storeys are a tad dodgy, especially at night. There is a Q Park on the Riverside which is secure but expensive to park in. To park, I would seriously suggest parking at the official Park and Ride and travelling into the centre by the Supertram.

I would recommend the Leopold Hotel or the Mercure St Pauls. Both are bang right in the city centre and within easy distance of all the shops, the winter garden, the city hall or lyceum theatre if you want to take in a show at the same time
You're so very special, I wish I was special
