Company Car Lease - 64 or 15 plate?

I'm in the process of acquiring a new car through my company's lease scheme, and I have been told that the car will be available at the end of January. I've also been asked if I would like to take delivery of the car then, or wait until March so that I have it on a '15 plate.
Is there any benefit in doing so? Presumably it will only affect (if anything) the residual value at the end of the lease period, or am I missing something?
Any thoughts?

Depends on whether a) you need it earlier, and b) whether you have reg plate snobbery. As it's a lease car then the 64/15 doesn't really matter - any residual value difference shouldn't impact you.0

Does waiting another month affect your current transport situation?
If not then I'd wait for the 15 plate, nice to have the latest plate if you're paying the same.
Also if the lease is 2/3 years and you have another car then that will be the latest plate too and so on.0 -
Thanks both - Good point re: my current transport arrangement. I'm currently using a 25 year old car to get me to and from work, the MOT for which is due in March. I should probably take the car sooner rather than later in that case just in case my car fails the MOT.
If at the end of the lease I decided to purchase the car from the lease company, I wonder if it would work in my favour to go for a 64 plate as they would value the car as slightly older than a 15 plate?0 -
25 years, sounds interesting. What is it?0

I doubt it, but you should always try anyway.0 -

Interesting is one way to describe it I suppose...
Sadly it's nothing exciting; just a bog standard bulletproof Volvo. Some might argue the MSE thing to do would be to MOT it and keep it going, but the allure of a brand new car was too tempting. I'll probably hold onto it if it passes the MOT though, it makes a good workhorse and is a piece of cake to fix (you could fit 2 engines in the space under that enormous bonnet!)0 -
I'm surprised they gave you a choice. When i was 21 i leased a car through my dads employer, ordered early Jan, told I would have to wait for the new reg in March...0
