I feel for the poor people living in the shadows or who are getting vibrations but the problem is one of scale. And these things are BIG.

A few years back I read an article that British Gas were trying to get outline permission to mount small turbines on houses which could be linked to the National Grid. When the winds blowing you sell them the electric, when it's not then you buy it back.

If they were to supply the turbine then I'd be up for it!

What seems to be getting largely ignored is that we are on an island. One that's battered most of the year from the atlantic. Cornwall have just started wave farms off-coast, much to the chagran of the surfer-dudes.

We also generate loads of methane through dumped "stuff" which could easily be used to create electricity.

Biomass can also be used in inverted downdraft gasifiers to produce flamable gas and charcoal. We used to do that at one time (remember coke and town gas?). Why do we waste / bury such a valuable resource?
