Downlight - block light from one side

Hi - I have some downlights installed in my living room.
We've wall mounted our tv now to keep kids from knocking it over. The problem is now I can see a couple of the lights in the tv.

is there something I could use to block the light from them slightly on the side facing the TV - really only need to be an inch or so blocking down.

I was thinking of just making something but the lights get very hot

hope this makes sense!

  • If they get that hot, you've still got the old inefficient halogen downlights - replacing them with LEDs would allow you to stick on a plastic guard on one side as they won't get hot and melt, as well as reducing your electricity bills.

Or just take out the bulbs in the 2/3 lights that are causing the reflections, if you can live without the extra light.
  • Hi yeah they are halogen. I use them with a dimmer. Are LED ok to use with a dimmer?

Also any advice on plastic guards if I go led route?
