Triton Electrical Shower - only cold water

My shower which previously worked for the last couple of years, suddenly is now only producing cold water. None of the circuit breakers have triggered. The power light to the shower no longer comes on, which makes me think something internal has gone wrong.
I've bought a new shower - Triton Amber 3 for £55.
I did consider replacing it myself but I'm terrible with DIY and think I may make a real mess of it.
Do you think this is wise, or should I give it a go?
The plumber I've booked has quoted:
£89 call out fee which includes 30 minutes work
+ £29 for each 30 minutes on top
They are a very good and trust worthy company so I don't mind paying a bit more, if the job gets done.
Thanks

You may also need to uprate the electric cable to the unit if it is not already 10mm and the breaker so if you are not 100% sure on what you are doing then best to get a pro in.0

Most showers are pretty straight forward, however some need the water inlet moving - some need the wiring upgrading etc.
If you are competant enough then shouldn't take more than an hour for you to fit but if you have doubts then leave it to some one that can fit it for you.... better safe than sorry !You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
I took the front off the existing shower and just didn't know what i was looking at so I've left it for now.
I'm considering getting the whole bathroom redone. Something that's been needed since I moved in 3 years ago.
I will have a think...Amo L'Italia0 -
Just re read your first post, you say not working and no indicator light has come on the shower and no fuses have tripped.
Is there a dedicated shower circuit in your fuse box ? if so I would be inclined to turn it off - you could well have a loose / burnt out connection somewhere in the circuit.
When you turn your shower on do you have a pull switch somewhere in the bathroom that turns the electric on ? quite often the screws in the switch work loose and the cable looses connection with the switch and burns out.
Could be a few other things as well but I'd certainly turn off the electric to it.You may click thanks if you found my advice useful0 -
Yea there is a separate circuit for shower. It's now off.
There is also a pull cord. That was on at the time of trying so I don't think it's that.
Plumber is coming friday. I just prey that can fit the new one easilyAmo L'Italia0 -
From experience, most Tritons interchange easily, they have a selection of inlet positions for both the power cable, and the water connection.
The only other variant may be that the fixing holes are not in identical places as the one you are replacing.
Value for money, they are an excellent buy, you can pay five times that for a Mira with cruise control and digital displays !
at the end of the day, all you really need is a working shower16 x Enhance 250w panels + SolarEdge Inverter + TREES0
