As in the title, does a basic account (Barclays Cash Card Account) show up on your credit file?
If yes, does almost emptying it each month (less than £10 left by payday) look bad?

Yes it shows.
No it would not look bad as a bank account does not show credit balances on your report. All that shows is a series of £0 or OK's or green ticks etc to show you are not overdrawn. There is is not any sign beyond that of the operation of the account.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have an HSBC basic current account and it shows on the credit file. As with any other current account, positive balances aren't being reported.0

Halifax's basic account doesn't show up. Barclay's Basic Account does and you have a £15 charge free buffer on it which will report as a negative balance...I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
Don't rely on anything I write as it may be wrong!!!0 -

I don't.
There's no OD facility at all on mine.0 -
EVERYONE with the cashcard account has a £15 Buffer... Set up a payment to be sent tomorrow for £14.99 and it will get paid, you will be £15 overdrawn, there won't be a charge and it will be reported as a balance of £15 on your credit file f the balance remains owing on there long enough!
The £15 buffer applies equally to ALL Barclays current accounts.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.

Yes everyone says it will show but no balance, even the Co-op's Cashminder account (no cheques/OD facility at all) will show as they say it is a credit account! I am somewhat dismayed at this but it shows green dots and a credit foot print of sorts.I love green dots :T I hate red dots :mad:0

There is a buffer of £15, if a transaction other than a cash withdrawal or pre-authorised debit card is requested out of your account, it will be paid and no charges will be incurred. It is not a normal line of credit, I.e overdraft.
Cheques, direct debits, standing orders, post dated bill payments etc will be authorised if your balance will not exceed £15 Overdrawn.I have numerous qualifications in Business and Finance, Accountancy, Health and Safety and am now studying Law.
