Ok.
Well, I did my first toe dip. I did my scaves.. I have ditched three. One has sentimental value and some worth but I realised I don't really like it that much and I've waited years for my taste to mature and when I held it I decided its not giving me joy at all. Maybe it will give so done else joy
I'm not very good at folding.. And my drawers don't look that neat. But they are nicely categorised into season and shape ( not colour, I didn't like that)
I have decided to tackle night wear next. I know I have a couple of items to go from those regions of storage and that they aren't best ordered in my current arrangement so, seems a good plan.
I don't know why I'm so entranced yet so grudging.....you all seem so enthused and while I love the bits that seem least popular here.....the hello house, and thank you shoes.
The folding carrier bags. I've got a carrier bag thingy I made so that contains them, they go in the top and get pulled out of the bottom. We mainly use reusable shopping bags.0 -
Epiphany that my jam and marmalade making days are over - I am on a low carb diet for health reasons and no longer eat bread. So all the empty jam jars have been kondo'd out of the house.
I also bit the bullet on a lovely grey Le Creuset oval casserole - I used it for the last time this morning, and had to admit it's too heavy for my wrists, and so no longer gives me joy. So off it goes too, to find a loving new owner!
I'm enjoying this!0 -
Have just done my drawers, wow have got two drawers into one.
Need to order the book from library.
Not sure if I have any items of clothes that I actually love. Just lots of black tops and jeans.Death comes to us all. When he came to Mort, he offered him a job. MORT by Terry Pratchett.0 -
Whilst Kondo-ing my undersink cupboard I found two window/glass wipers. The ones with a rubber end and handle. Whilst binning one of them I had an aha moment. I broke my ice scraper the other day whilst de icing my car. I wonder if the window one will work on the car (at the moment I'm using an old plastic card the same size as a credit card to scrap the ice off).
Has anyone found another use for an item they were going to get rid of? I will give it a try and if its really not up to the job then I'll bin it.0 -

Socks done! My sock drawer looked fine but I tried the 'roll and ball' method - the one my OH uses and when he has done mine I have always undone! Got rid of 4 pairs - old and almost holed - and found 8 NEW pairs still packaged! Think I must have bought them as stocking fillers for DDs a couple of years ago and forgotten about them - nice M&S ones too
I suddenly found myself categorising my newly balled socks - striped plain flowers spots etc. I dont consider myself as having such an OCD need but crikey I am now admiring the open drawer:rotfl:
Also put on declutter pile: 2 hankies and 3 little notebooks that were lurking in the bottom of the drawer!Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

You're evil - all of you - you're evil
I've HAD to order the book & DH laughed at me (but I will have my revenge - his sock drawer will not be Konned)
I'm desperate to start but know that the bill drawer needs to be done first & that does not seem to konform to the rules - but needs to be done.
I have NEVER been excited about the prospect of cleaning out my knicker drawer in my life....
I think you're turning me into a Stepford Wife.
Off to deal with bill type things so I can enjoy reading my new book when it arrives.
PS - I don't hate you reallyDebts 07/12/2021

In a short break from the bill drawer I've been googling Marie Kondo & reading a few articles (sorry - it's what I do...)
She mentions about the worst stockpiles she has ever seen - she comments on one person who had 80 toilet rolls
Has she seen my cupboards? I buy them in bulk when they're on offer and in my defence I do live in a ruralish area and am a minor prepper
Anyhow - now slinking off in shameDebts 07/12/2021
