For a young married couple, sheet or towel sets in the brightest colours you can find. Or give them a large witchball to hang in the drawing room window.
Give a whole family an old door knocker or give them a huge box of Cox's Orange Pippins.
Well, all the suggestions are bizarre, but it is clear at least what most of them ARE.
But what on earth is a witchball, and why would a family want an old door knocker???0 -
After struggling quite a lot I've managed to kondo the books so that they fit on the available shelves.
I have also started my sewing (aka dining room) and am quite pleased that I've found a way to store rolls of freezer paper etc upright by using a tube from a posh bottle of whisky. Two birds with one stone because some of the packaging from good whisky is so nice. I'm not an alcoholic dd works as a food and drink journalist so often gets freebies.0 -

Apparently, they are a hollow sphere of coloured glass containing thin fibres inside. They were hung in cottage windows in the 17th and 18th century to ward off evil spirits, witches, evil spells etc.
Well, I am sure that most young married couples in the 50s were in great need of those, lol.
As for an old door knocker, maybe they were into upcycling/refurbishing even then.0 -
I spent a frantic half an hour this morning looking for my Very-Favourite-T-Shirt-of-Them-All-To-Be-Worn-For-Yoga-Gym etc I was convinced it had be taken to CS by mistake:( However I then remembered that I was able to move all my T shirts to a new resting place as I was now filing them in the drawer rather then folding on a shelf. Pulled out drawer and there is was all neatly folded in the pink section:rotfl: I never really used the drawer before as its at the bottom and usually has something dumped in front of it......not any more:)
Cant wait for the week to get stared and over with so I can get my teeth into a weekend of kondomaniaBe the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

A favour please on behalf of a friend.
Please could I ask if you would mind voting for my daughter who has got in the Top 50 of the L'Oreal The Brush contest. The Top 5 from the public vote get an approx. £2,500 make up kit and a winner picked to represent UK, who will then be up against other countries in Paris for the major prize.

You don't need to identify yourself to vote, you just have to watch the video unfortunately and a "VOTE" button should appear bottom right so just one click of a button.
It does seem to be one vote per IP address so other members of a household cannot vote from different devices.
The public vote closes tonight, so it would be much appreciated if as many as possible could vote today and spread the word. Ruth needs to be in the top 5 in order to go through to the next stage.
Many many thanks.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Seasonally, with other winter things. I have seen Japanese tourists wearing white cotton gloves in strong sunny weather, as well as sunhats, so some people are using them as complexion preservers as well as winter warmers, I guess. Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Well I thought I had finished the clothes category, then I read the book ...
I had totally forgotten about the coats that were hung from various hooks over doors, and didn't know that handbags were classed under clothes.
Anyway, the end result is that I have 3 more full black bin bags of clothes to take to the cash for clothes place next Saturday morning.
Marie says that once you leave a category and move onto the next one, anything from categories that are done that is found later must be discarded  it would have been very cold out without a coat!Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
