ebay/paypal direct debit

OK , I use a spare bank account to accept my sales and pay my paypal fees, however on 3 occasions over the last year paypal have taken money early or without notice , also some thing I buy seem to come from my debit card , and others are not asked for , several days
seems I keep getting bank charges for "a direct debit" but not for failed debit card.
My first thoughts were to remove my bank account but just leave my debit card , and watch for any fees and pay them when spotted.
however , how do I accept payments ? coop bank seem to take ages to show payments paid to a card , as I have found when I have received debit card refunds.
how do I fine tune this? , I would prefer paypal not to have a free run on my bank account

You must mean Ebay fees. You should be able to elect to pay your fees by debit/credit card and add a bank account to your Paypal account that is not verified (ie one you can transfer to that doesn't have a direct debit set up). Whether Ebay allow that for paying fees, I've no idea. It might be a better money managing idea to pay your fees as you go, rather than building them up for the end of the month when you can't afford them.enfield_freddy wrote: »OK , I use a spare bank account to accept my sales and pay my paypal fees,.0 -
right got you , set ebay to debit card , but leave paypal as card/bank for taking payments and paying for goods , sorted now I think0

You can also pay your fees as a one time paypal payment after each sale, then you are in control and they don't mount up, that's what I do
PayPal don't have a free run in your bank account, payments come out via direct debit 3 working days after you send money0 -
First thing I always do, when setting up an ebay account, is wait two weeks, then go to my online banking and cancel any DD they have set up.0
