those little treats in life

Here's a few of our little treats, most come within the budget:
We do an extra special candle light dinner with all our nice Denby, posh tablecloth etc. Have a wee pudding, special coffee afterwards etc
An essential oil pamper bath with the bathroom lit in tealights, bit of music etc is always nice, especially if I get massage afterwards
I like a home foot spa and pedicure - taking ages over each phase and finishing with polish.
Same with a home facial, oat and honey mask etc. I like a bit of me pamper time
Can't beat breakfast in bed brought to you and a leisurely lie in whiling away a few hours in bed with a good book.
Yoga and a bit of meditation is my (most) days treat that keep me sane. I used to go to a class but it got pricey then I realised I could do it just fine at home for free on my mat.
I bird watch
Sometimes just staring into space, day dreaming is a treat enough :rotfl:0 -
What treats did you have before that you miss?
A YS treat that is within your budget probably isn't going to be the end of the world (for me I'd be more concerned with blowing my calorie budget and eating it all on my own!)
A magazine/dvd - my library does this, and I can down load up to date magazines on my itouch. I wouldn't dream of buying one now.
For me a real treat is sitting down with DH, a clean apartment, a yummy home made dinner with candles lit, and a movie we've recorded or a new series of endevour or something like that. Another is packing up a picnic and heading up the mountains on our bikes. I'm quite lucky in that I get a lot of pleasure from little things in life.
I make myself two mugs of fresh strong filtered coffee every morning and have them with a solid breakfast - it's one of my favourite times of the day and it's a daily treat.
I believe in living frugally, but really I can afford to spend a bit more than we do. So I guess it all depends on what you can afford to spend and what gives you pleasure.0 -
A treat is something that gives you pleasure, it does not have to involve spending pennies.
A simple walk with the dog or kids.
Having a candle on the dinner table.
Reading free books on your kindle.
A bubble bath.
Crafting for pleasure
Postie putting freebies through your letter box.
taking photo's of family and printing off the computer. Great smiles when you give them out.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
The only thing I really still do is coffee out occasionally. I think my mindset is changed so much that I no longer see meals out, the pub, new clothing, etc as desirable. It's interesting as I was just reading an article by The Minimalists that said that very same thing. You can't ever go back to seeing things the way you did as you have changed forever the way you think." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

For me, because I am paying my debt off to allow me to do something, my treat is a hot shower at the end of each day, no kids or DH pestering me, and just day dreaming of what will be and just letting thoughts come to me. My life is so busy and structured that I like to just chill for those 10 minutes and afterwards I feel thoroughly refreshed, calm and ready for anything

Other than that, for my family, we walk the dog, go ge0caching, take picnics, do puzzles, read, watch dvds and cook/bake.Debt - CCV £3792

Eating out in posh restaurants
I'm a bit of a foodie,so hate going anywhere where the food isn't any better than my own home cooked, too often its worse. So nothing missed there.0 -

Since I quit DT (not a conscious New Year's resolution but I am very glad of it) I have had loads of time and finished reading 8 half-started books that had been lying on the bedside table for months! Plus I feel pleasantly happy outside of the b*tching and carping.
I feel a trip to google coming on! Desperate to know what DT is and KonMarie tidying!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

My treat is a Magnum ice cream. Eaten when I am out walking, if I happen to pass a shop and I fancy one, and not more than five times a year.

IlonaI love skip diving.

Okay I found KonMari tidying and want to find out to do it without buying the book! Still no clue about DT though.
BTW thanks OP for starting this thread as I am an awful one for YS treats and need to wise up and get my life in order!Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I think that DT might be the Discussion Time section of the forum?0
