I have tried the links in other threads but it says the version has expired, my copy of Norton that came with the PC expired on 26th July.
I keep getting a popup saying the firewall protection is turned off (every 20secs I kid you not!!)and I am on the verge of throwing a perfectly good laptop through a perfectly good window.
Can anyone help me to remove the Norton and suggest the best replacement in true MSE style?

Thanks for the quick response Browntoa, we have another problem here!! it never rains but it pours...certain websites are not working today. We had to replace our router yesterday as the wireless transmitter failed. It was a straight replacement of an identical model but we can't open Hotmail, our bank website (for internet banking) and the link that you have provided!!!
Any ideas?0 -

Currently running the remove tool for Norton, the problem was on the router, installer (not me honest) had ticked PPPoE instead of PPPoA, should have tried the other one because he said he wasn't sure!!.
Now fully able to get into all my websites as normal, thanks for all the suggestions and I will install the software suggested by Browntoa above except do I need a firewall if there is one on the router?0 -
Done all the updates and notebook is running at warp speed! How much resource does Norton snaffle?0
