Mouse for Laptop

I currently do not have a mouse for my laptop as I get on fine without one.

However, my children (6 and 4) find it a lot easier to use rather than the little touch pad on the laptop (I found this out as they use the mouse on my mum's computer).

Can I buy any mouse off the internet and it will work or do I have to buy a specific one for my particular laptop? Can't even remember the make of it at the moment, but think it is Hewlett Packard.

    Any mouse should work.

All you need to know is which 'plug' to have to connect it to your laptop.
Most modern laptops use USB - does your have plenty of these??

    :)
  • How about a wireless mouse?

I have one for my laptop.

I take it everywhere the laptop goes.

Just remember to remove the battery (or put a slip of paper/plastic at one end of the battery), before putting it in a bag, suitcase, etc.

    Something like this perhaps.

+1 for the Wireless mouse, that is what my wife uses for her lappy. (And, as I type this, my 9 year old granddaughter playing Minecraft on it.) Ours is a Logitech M325, quite small and batteries last ages.

  • I suggested the Trust mouse, because it's small, so good for carrying about.

My wife and I use Microsoft 3500 wireless meeses on all our laptops and they are brilliant. Small but comfortable, powered by a single AA battery and a switch underneath to save the battery when not in use. Obviously you need a spare USB port to plug the wireless receiver into but it is so tiny we leave it plugged in permanently.

Yes, B-Bob, so is the Logitech, although the Trust is cheaper. The Logitech has been in constant daily use for almost 3 years now and has had just 2 battery changes. It also has the same size of small transmitter which stays in the lappy even when traveling.

Throwing another in the mix. I've used this one around a year with no issues and same battery.

Wow, a wireless one sounds amazing. So u just stick the receiver thing into a USB port and there's no wires. Just what my girls need.

Gona get on Amazon tomorrow when at work and see how much they are and make my decision.

Know my girls would love a pink one, might see if someone sells them!

Had a quick look and there are pink ones, will buy one tomorrow.

Why is there such a range in prices? They all do the same thing. I don't mind paying more if it is better than the £4.99 one.

    Yep, it's that simple.

I keep the "receiver thing" in my laptop all the time.

It protrudes so little, it doesn't even snag the neoprene pouch I keep the laptop in.
