I was browsing the net today for some cheap hosting, came across 123-hostinguk.co.uk, was going to buy and then found out they give free plans with no advertising.
Now they don't show it on their main page, but clicking order shows it near the bottom so not sure if a glitch or what.

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I can see free apps, 6 months free, free blacklist monitoring. But not a years free hosting.
If the speed of their purchase page is anything to go by. I fell asleep waiting for it to load..
It doesnt like Opera or Chrome
Ahh 1 free domain name? with the £2.49 plan?
Still has not loaded in Opera...Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
You predominately get what you pay for when it comes to webhosting.
Is this a hobby that you dont care if the site is down more often than its up? Then free hosting makes sense. Is this a key part of your business? If it is then get professional business hosting0 -
You get what you pay for with hosting. (I should know, I worked in the industry for years.) Choosing a free service really is a false economy, especially if your business is going to depend on it.0

Avoid Free hosting you cannot relay on them and they can close anytime. You can get cheap and reliable web hosting at Webhost UK just for 14.99GBP per year which even maintain your backup and offer support 24x7.

Free hosting or a "freewebsite" using wix or such is a useful tool when starting out to get a cost effective web presence whilst testing the viability of a business idea - once up and running and producing income then a paid for service can be acquired as an upgrade either with the free provider or elsewhere.
If the business fails to fly for whatever reason then the costs are kept to a minimum.I am responsible me, myself and I alone I am not the keeper others thoughts and words.0 -

There is a certain chicken and egg issue there though, arguably the reason it failed could be because of the poor website.
Back in my days of developing websites I had a couple of clients that I picked up from a small business forum where they had a basic site developed or used free hosting etc and were about to can the idea because it had failed. Unfortunately their budget sites or flaky hosting had meant people had turned away from them or tried it and rejected it due to bugs/ limitations etc. We redeveloped the sites for them and they went on to become successful
You always need to be careful of not creating a self fulfilling prophesy, thinking your business may fail so not investing in it and then it fails because you havent invested. That isnt to say you have to go big bang on day one but just be careful which corners you are cutting so you dont hamstring yourself0 -
With free hosting you most likely get no support and who's to say next week they just close up shop and leave you high and dry. as you have not paid then you have no come backs.
This comes from someone who over the last 20 years has built up a hosting business and have seen many clients come to my hosting with their tails between their legs moaning that they had hosting with xyz free hosting and they lost their website can i help them get it back so they can host with me. The answer is usually NO as they very really use cpanel as this costs them, so they will use free control panels and if they have gone so has your site.
you can pick up hosting for next to nothing these days0 -
Isnt that the point of making backups?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
