my first child is due in April and i will not get a baby on board sign.
At the moment when you encounter me on Birmingham's roads you will just mutter under your breath "what a tit..."
If i have one of those signs you will be uttering "what a tit, with his kid in the car..."0 -

However I've found since putting one behind my rear headrests, nobody parks close to the car anymore.
Sure I recently read that was an urban myth, don't quote me on it though

Since there's no actual rules behind them, they seem to come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from green 'P' to 'New Driver'.0 -
It's the baby Jesus!0

No it is true. The idea was if the car is found upside down in a field with an incapacitaed driver, and no glass in the windows they would look for where the baby has been flung out.
Nowadays there are several schools of thought as to the meaning.
1) ( As mentioned by Oddball Jamie:) it means "I am going to try to get a baby strapped in here, so I will fling my door open into your car, and then saw it into the paintwork as I struggle with the child seat"
2) "In my arrogance, I assume that you proles drive so poorly that I need a sticker to shame you into driving properly behind me."
3) "I have a baby in here, it will distract me at some point: best keep out of the way so you don't get caught up in the crash."

Oh, number one excuse by far, from dangerous female drivers, usually revolves around the presence of a child in the car.
In fact one recently tried to ram me off the road for daring to overtake her, the excuse further down the road was she was protecting her child.....
The excuse for doing 30mph in a 60 limit was, you guessed it, child on board.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I'd love to know what possible effect the OP thinks that the displaying of a "Baby on board" sign is supposed to have. Or, indeed, is going to have.
The sign will have absolutely no effect on a bad driver and is completely unnecessary for a good driver.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
