Natwest account default date incorrect

My last withdrawal before dafaulting on my Natwest current account was Dec 2008. I have just read on my Experian report that my default date is Feb 2010. My Natwest credit card last used at same time as current account has a default date of Jan 2009. This means I cannot remove the bad credit on my current account for another year - which will be 7 years and not 6. Can Natwest do this? This would mean they allowed my current account to be dormant owing money for 1 year and 3 months or can I get the default date changed.

If the account had an agreed overdraft then the default date would usually be around a month after the overdraft was formally recalled by them and you didn't repay it.
Do you know what date the overdraft was recalled? It may well not have been until the account had been in active for a period of months, possibly could have been up to a year.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I don't know the date it was recalled, I just assumed it would be like my credit cards - a couple months after I stopped paying. I did have an agreed overdraft. Would this mean I need to wait six years after the date they say I defaulted which is actually 14 months later - therefore my six years has become seven. Please advise.0

You didn't default on the debt until the overdraft was recalled.
Without you knowing when it was recalled then it will be difficult to argue for having the default date altered.

If the default date on your credit file has been changed and it was previously shown on your credit file with an earlier date then complain to the debt collector/creditor reporting to your credit file that they must not change the default date, and must report the same date as the original creditor did.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
