    Why not keep your money in an interests paying current account and pay for your Steam purchases with a cashback credit card, fully paid off from your current account each month? That would be the MSE approach.

    The steam wallet is paid with a cashback card already.

    and if i leave it in my account im likely to use it for something else.

    i dont tend to have much spending money available each month, as most of it already gets transferred into savings accounts, i just leave a small amount for spending over the month.
    so if i dont spend in steam it'll be spent elsewhere
