Hi
I am looking at buying a second hand 3 wheeler kingswood twin pushchair. Does anyone have are had one of these and what do u think? At the moment I'm using a mclaren side by side and it rubbish. what do u think is a reasonable price to pay for one that is a couple of years old
Your opinions much appreciated.

I bought one of these secondhand recently for £45. It's got a fixed wheel at the front. It is terrific for bumpy terrain but the fixed wheel makes steering more difficult on flat pavements. You have to lean on the handle to lift the front wheel up when you want to go round corners. This is not easy with a nearly-3-year-old and an 18-month-old in it.
If you can get one with a wheel which can be fixed or swivel then I'd go for that one.
The Kingswood is also a lot heavier and wider than my 5-year-old M&P umbrella-folding double buggy and you need to make sure you can get it in the boot of your car as well as it is HUGE. I had to take the front wheel off and the parcel shelf away to get it in a Peugeot 307. The M&P is good for shops but you have to lean over the handles a bit (causing backache after a while) or you kick the wheels as you walk. Plus the handles are so widely spaced that your arms ache after a while.
I've discovered that there is no ideal double pushchair out there, at least not if you don't want to spend a fortune!
What don't you like about the Maclaren? I really like our single Quest which I use for my younger son sometimes.
hope this helps.0 -
Thanks for your reply
I bought a kingswood twin today second hand. I have an estate car so it fits in fine and it does have a swivel wheel. I practise folding and unfolding it before I bought it. it is quite heavy but compared with my maclaren twin its heaven to push and my daughter loves it. I am a childminder and will be mainly using it for the 2 boys I will be looking after. and with one being a yr and the other one nearly 2 they are no lightweights. I't is mainly for walking to school (up a hill) and I've practiced through the alleyways and it fits. Although it is too big to store in porch I plan to leave it outside cover during the day then store it in the car at other times.
About the maclaren. the twin has gone streight to a charity shop. let someone else struggle with it. I have a single maclaren which I've used for 4 yrs now and 2 children and it has been fantasitic although I don't think it would last another child. I would get another maclaren if I had to.
I can't wait to try this pushchair out on monday morninging hopefully I'll be wizzing up that hill in record time and not on my knees like I normally am by the time I get up the top.
Thanks for your feedback.HOW MUCH ?0
