It's a difficult one. I would write to them instead of just speaking to them, first and foremost. Say if the noise doesn't stop you'll be contacting the authorities.
If that doesn't work, actually contact the authorities.they can do what they want in their house whenever they like.
No they can't. There are laws regarding noise at certain parts of the day. Make this clear in the letter you write.
I've been there and it's horrible. It was only a rental though so I just toughed it out. And I was lucky I didn't spend that much time in the flat as I was at work. But I had 3 days off ill with the flu and my god, I was already feeling rubbish but I just wanted to CRY at the end of every day. They were so so so loud. Thud thud thud upstairs all the time. Thud thud thud. It was like having someone permanently hammering inside your head. You could feel your eardrums rumbling. I know how annoying it is even if it only seems small at first.0 -
So sorry to hear about your awful neighbours PHIL1873 and GREENSALAD. I guess mine are not as bad as you, but they really do my head in.
My only fear of reporting them is they might get nasty like they did with PHIL1873. I mean even the 63+ year old parents are as awful as their kids. Having said that, if the parents can be that nasty, what hope can one have for their kids.
I will have to try and convince my Mom to move. Fingers crossed it works out in the end. And fingers crossed it works out for the others who are suffering also.0 -
So, one of them has a 'reputation' and has 'friends who can make things happen'. Don't think so.
I know people who are ex-cons who claim to have such friends, but no-one has ever met, seen, or even heard of them.
I'd be curious to know what is going on in the attic. Give it a month or so, then go in to your attic and feel the adjoining wall. Is it warm ?. Chances are, with a drug dealer in the house, the attic has/is being converted into a growing room. At this point, an anonymous tip-off to the Police 'via 'Crimestoppers' if you so wish) would be in order.
Plod will put their door in and search the place for drugs (including the attic). Enough such tip-offs and the NFH will either rein-in their activities in order to not be so conspicuous, or they will leave.Never Knowingly Understood.
