Car insurance query: self employed contractor

Hello,

I recently became a self-employed contractor, and would just like to check what I need to do car insurance wise, since my renewal is coming up in about one month from now.

I don't use my car for business, just domestic use, even being self employed (work in central London so use the tube/bus). I was an account manager in the marketing industry in my permanent role, and am still an account manager in this contracting role. My car insurer has me down as an account manager, which I still technically am (basically I am employed by my limited company, but also employed by the place I'm contracting for at the moment).

Do I need to let them know I'm now a self employed account manager? I will likely go from contract to contract (still on my first one) but remain as an account manager, which the current place I'm working for is hiring me as

I hope this is sufficient info to provide some advice.

Thanks,

-HA
P.S. I'm currently a one-man band, in case it affects anything.

Firstly, you are not self employed, you are an employee of your own limited company.

You are simultaneously an account manager and a company director and your employment status is employed. Its up to you which of the two you want to declare as.

Thank you for confirming this, it's most appreciated.
